Get Started for Google Admins

Overview

As a Google Workspace Admin, you can use JumpCloud to simplify, secure, and extend your Google Workspace environment. JumpCloud is integrated directly into Google Workspace, allowing you to seamlessly deploy, manage, and secure all your desktop, server, and mobile devices (macOS, Windows, Linux, Apple iOS/iPadOS, and Android) from a single console for better control and greater visibility. This article covers JumpCloud features designed to integrate with Google.

Identity Management

To integrate with Google Workspace, first determine which platform will act as your primary identity provider (IdP) for user authentication:

  • JumpCloud: Users authenticate and manage their passwords in JumpCloud with changes syncing to Google Workspace.
  • Google Workspace: Users will be redirected to Google to authenticate and leverage federated authentication to use Google Workspace as your primary IdP.

Using JumpCloud as the IdP

Use the Google Workspace Directory Integration to extend Google identities into JumpCloud. JumpCloud serves as the IdP for you to manage user identities, passwords, and access. You can also configure single sign-on (SSO) with Google Workspace to streamline the user login experience to a single set of credentials.

See the following resources to learn more:

Using Google Workspace as the IdP

Federating JumpCloud with Google Workspace lets you preserve Google as your primary IdP for user management and authentication while taking advantage of all of JumpCloud’s device management and reporting features. See the following resources to learn more:

Expanding SSO and IdM Connections

When JumpCloud is your IdP configured with the Google Workspace Integration, you can leverage JumpCloud’s extensive catalog of SSO and Identity Management (IdM) apps to provision and manage access to additional SaaS apps. See the following resources to learn more:
