Automatically provision, update and deprovision users in KnowBe4 from JumpCloud using the Identity Management (SCIM) integration. Leverage this integration to centralize user lifecycle, user identity, and group management in JumpCloud for KnowBe4. Save time and avoid mistakes, as well as potential security risks, related to manually creating users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read this article to learn how to setup the KnowBe4 integration.<br><br><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A JumpCloud administrator account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JumpCloud SSO Package or higher or SSO add-on feature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An KnowBe4 administrator account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your KnowBe4 account ID and an active KnowBe4 subscription.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review KnowBe4\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.knowbe4.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360052380374-SCIM-Configuration-Guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Configuring SCIM integration<\/a>&nbsp;support article.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>SSO is not required to use the SCIM integration for provisioning and Identity Management, but it is strongly recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to renew your SCIM token, you must&nbsp;<a href=\"#to-deactivate-the-idm-integration\">deactivate the Identity Management integration<\/a>, renew your token and then reactivate the integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There can be a delay of a few minutes when syncing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"attribute-considerations\"><strong>Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A default set of attributes are managed for users. See the&nbsp;<a href=\"#attribute-mappings\">Attribute Mappings<\/a>&nbsp;section for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\"><strong>Creating a new JumpCloud Application Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>USER AUTHENTICATION\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>+&nbsp;Add New Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the name of the application in the <strong>Search <\/strong>field and select it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Display Label<\/strong>, type your name for the application. Optionally, you can enter a <strong>Description<\/strong>, adjust the User Portal Image and choose to hide or <strong>Show in User Portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If this is a Bookmark Application, enter your sign-in URL in the <strong>Bookmark URL<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Optionally, expand <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> to specify a value for the<strong> SSO IdP URL<\/strong>. If no value is entered, it will default to <kbd>https:\/\/sso.jumpcloud.com\/saml2\/&lt;applicationname&gt;<\/kbd>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The <strong>SSO IdP URL<\/strong> is not editable after the application is created. You will have to delete and recreate the connector if you need to edit this field at a later time.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Click <strong>Save Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If successful, click:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Configure Application<\/strong> and go to the next section <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close<\/strong> to configure your new application at a later time <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the SSO Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To obtain the KnowBe4 SAML ID<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in to the KnowBe4.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>Account Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>SAML&nbsp;<\/strong>section, select&nbsp;<strong>Enable SAML<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the value in the&nbsp;<strong>SAML ID<\/strong>&nbsp;field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave open and go to JumpCloud.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure JumpCloud<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>SSO<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace any instances of SAML_ACCOUNT_ID with your KnowBe4 account ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>ACS URL<\/strong> and <strong>Default Relay State<\/strong> fields, ensure you have the appropriate URL for your location. If you are not in the US, replace &lt;<kbd>training.knowbe4.com<\/kbd>&gt; with your location&#8217;s value:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>United States:<\/strong>&nbsp;training.knowbe4.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>European Union:<\/strong>&nbsp;eu.knowbe4.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Canada:<\/strong>&nbsp;ca.knowbe4.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Germany:<\/strong>&nbsp;de.knowbe4.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>United Kingdom:<\/strong>&nbsp;uk.knowbe4.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the <strong>IDP URL<\/strong> for the next section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download the certificate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Find&nbsp;your application in the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Applications<\/strong>&nbsp;list and click anywhere in the row to reopen its configuration window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab and click <strong>IDP Certificate Valid &gt; Download certificate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>The certificate.pem will download to your local <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure KnowBe4<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>SAML&nbsp;<\/strong>section, paste the JumpCloud <strong>IDP URL<\/strong> from the previous section into the&nbsp;<strong>IDP&nbsp;URL<\/strong>&nbsp;field. (e.g.,&nbsp;<kbd>https:\/\/sso.jumpcloud.com\/saml2\/knowbe4<\/kbd>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under&nbsp;<strong>IdP Cert Fingerprint,<\/strong>&nbsp;enter the fingerprint of the SAML certificate downloaded in the previous section. If you are unfamiliar with this process, see&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.knowbe4.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360062166714-How-to-Convert-an-X-509-Certificate-to-a-SHA1-Fingerprint-for-SAML\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Convert an X.509 Certificate to a SHA1 Fingerprint for SAML<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save SAML Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"authorizing-user-sso-access\"><strong>Authorizing User SSO Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Users are implicitly denied access to applications. After you connect an application to JumpCloud, you need to authorize user access to that application. You can authorize user access from the <strong>Application Configuration<\/strong> panel or from the <strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong> panel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To authorize user access from the Application Configuration panel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JumpCloud Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>USER AUTHENTICATION &gt; SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>, then select the application to which you want to authorize user access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>User Groups<\/strong> tab. If you need to create a new group of users, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-user-groups\">Get Started: User Groups<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the check box next to the group of users you want to give access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn how to authorize user access from the&nbsp;<strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong>&nbsp;panel, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/authorize-users-to-an-sso-application#user-groups-configuration-panel\">Authorize Users to an SSO Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"validating-sso-authentication-workflows\"><strong>Validating SSO user authentication workflow(s)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-idp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>IdP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Access the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/userconsole#\/\">JumpCloud User Console<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Applications<\/strong> and click an application tile to launch it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JumpCloud asserts the user&#8217;s identity to the SP and is authenticated without the user having to log in to the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>SP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go\u00a0to the SP application login &#8211; generally, there is either a special link or an adaptive username field that detects the user is authenticated through SSO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>This varies by SP.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Login redirects the user to JumpCloud where the user enters their JumpCloud credentials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the user is logged in successfully, they are redirected\u00a0back to the SP and automatically logged in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the Identity Management Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure KnowBe4<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>From your KnowBe4 console, click your email address in the top right corner and select&nbsp;<strong>Account<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to the&nbsp;<strong>User Management &gt; User Provisioning<\/strong>&nbsp;section of your settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Enable User Provisioning (User Syncing)<\/strong>&nbsp;to display more provisioning settings.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By default, the toggle will be set to&nbsp;<strong>ADI<\/strong>. Click the&nbsp;<strong>SCIM&nbsp;<\/strong>toggle to begin setting up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expand your SCIM settings by clicking +&nbsp;<strong>SCIM Settings.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Generate SCIM Token<\/strong>. This will open a new window with your token ID.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The Client ID and Secret (token) may only be shown once. Copy them to a secure location, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-jumpcloud-password-manager\">JumpCloud Password Manager<\/a>, for future reference.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Once you\u2019ve saved the information, click&nbsp;<strong>OK&nbsp;<\/strong>to close the window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the&nbsp;<strong>Tenant URL<\/strong>&nbsp;and save it to a place that you can easily access later. You will need this information when configuring the integration in JumpCloud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that the&nbsp;<strong>Test Mode<\/strong>&nbsp;option is selected<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure JumpCloud<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Identity Management<\/strong>&nbsp;tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>Enable management of User Groups and Group Membership in this application<\/strong>&nbsp;checkbox if you want to provision, manage, and sync groups in KnowBe4 from JumpCloud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019re presented with two fields:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Base URL<\/strong> &#8211; paste the Tenant URL you copied when configuring KnowB4&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Token Key<\/strong> &#8211; paste the SCIM token you generated when configuring KnowBe4.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>sav<\/strong><strong>e<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You receive a confirmation that the Identity Management integration has been successfully verified.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To verify the integration and enable syncing in KnowBe4<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you enabled&nbsp;<strong>Test Mode<\/strong>&nbsp;when configuring the SCIM integration in KnowBe4, do the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Associate one or more user groups to the KnowBe4 application in JumpCloud.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Login to your KnowBe4 console.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Users&nbsp;<\/strong>from the top navigation bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the&nbsp;<strong>Provisioning&nbsp;<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Details for the received sync.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the results in the report meet your expectations, disable&nbsp;<strong>Test Mode<\/strong>&nbsp;from your <strong>Account Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"attribute-mappings\"><strong>Attribute Mappings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following table lists attributes that JumpCloud sends to the application.
